🎹 Yamaha U3M — One of the Most Underrated U3 Models from Yamaha’s Golden Era
The Yamaha U3M is an excellent version of the U3, manufactured in the early 1980s.
Before the U3M, Yamaha had already produced the U3H for nearly five years in very large quantities. By the time Yamaha introduced the U3M, they had already begun refining and improving the design.
Compared to the earlier U3H, the U3M offers a warmer, fuller, and more solid tone, with less of the thin or metallic character often associated with some earlier Yamaha uprights.
The U3M was only produced for a short period, from 1981 to 1982, making it a relatively unique generation of the U3 series.
This was also the beginning of Japan’s economic bubble era, a period when Yamaha manufacturing quality was exceptionally high.
Of course, this particular Yamaha U3M has also undergone a complete professional refurbishment, including:
