1986 Steinway&Sons Model L
This beautiful 1986 Steinway Model L features a rich, full-bodied tone with excellent depth and character. The treble is clear and transparent without sounding harsh, while the bass is warm, powerful, and resonant. The piano offers a wonderful balance of clarity, color, and projection throughout the entire keyboard.
The action is highly responsive, with excellent repetition and key return. Fast passages feel effortless, making it especially enjoyable for technically demanding repertoire. The touch remains comfortable even during long practice sessions, reducing fatigue and allowing for greater control and expression.
This piano has been fully regulated, including adjustment of key height, key dip, let-off, drop, repetition, backchecks, and pedals. As a result, the touch is even, precise, and consistent from top to bottom.
At 5’10½”, the Steinway Model L is often considered one of the most versatile grand pianos Steinway has ever produced, offering much of the power and richness of a larger Model B while fitting comfortably in a home, studio, or teaching environment.
